2025-2026 Calendar Highlights 

Sunday, August 24: Move-in for Prefects and Student Ambassadors
Monday, August 25: Move-in for all boarding students

Monday, August 25: Check In & Family Orientation
Thursday, August 28: First Day of Classes
Friday October 10-11: Fall Family Weekend, Fall Break (dorms remain open for Fall Break) 

Tuesday, October 14: Classes Resume 

Friday, November 21-Monday, December 1: Thanksgiving Break; no classes (dorms close at 12PM on Saturday 11/22 and reopen at 12PM on Sunday 11/30 for Thanksgiving break)

Tuesday December 2: Classes Resume 

Friday December 19-Sunday January 4: Winter break; no classes (dorms close at 12PM on Saturday 12/20 and reopen at 12PM on Sunday 1/4 for Winter break)

Friday February 13-Wednesday February 18: Mid-Winter Break (dorms remain open for Winter Break) 

Friday March 27-Sunday April 12: Spring break; no classes (dorms close at 12PM on Saturday 3/27 and reopen at 12PM on Sunday 4/12 for Spring break)

Monday May 18-Wednesday June 3: May Program

Friday June 5: Graduation (dorms close at 1:00PM) 

Transportation 

Oldfields School is conveniently located within a short drive to an airport and train station and is about an hour drive from Washington, D.C., two hours from Philadelphia and about three hours from New York City. 

Airports:

  • Baltimore/Washington International Airport (~30 minutes from campus)

  • Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (~75 minutes from campus)

  • Dulles International Airport (~90 minutes from campus)

  • Additional options: Philadelphia International Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport, LaGuardia Airport, Newark Liberty International Airport
     

Public Transit:

  • Penn Station Baltimore (~30 minutes from campus)

  • Uber and Lyft are readily available 

Driving:

  • 1 hour from Washington, D.C.

  • 2 hours from Philadelphia, PA

  • 2.5 hours from Richmond, VA

  • 3 hours from New York, NY

Oldfields School offers transportation drop-off/pick-up at Penn Station Baltimore and BWI airports on the specific dates/times around breaks listed below. Prior registration required.

Sunday August 24 (Move In): 

  • Baltimore Penn Station: Pick up at 2:00PM

  • BWI Airport: Pick up at 2:00PM

Friday November 21 (Thanksgiving Break): 

  • Baltimore Penn Station: Drop off at 5:00PM

  • BWI Airport: Drop off at 5:00PM

Sunday November 30 (Thanksgiving Break): 

  • Baltimore Penn Station: Pick up at 2:00PM

  • BWI Airport: Pick up at 2:00PM

Friday December 19 (Winter Break): 

  • Baltimore Penn Station: Drop off at 5:00PM

  • BWI Airport: Drop off at 5:00PM
