Biography
Frédéric has long been a student of language and history. The rich and colorful past of his native Orléans and its proximity to the châteaux of Chambord and Cheverny inspired him from an early age to study French history and culture, and history in general. In addition to his academic work in the German language, culture, and history, he has been studying English for 36 years.

Frédéric received his DEUG in German after two years of studies at the Université d’Orléans-La Source, continued his German studies at the Sorbonne, and received the Licence and Maîtrise in German. He also prepared successfully for the CAPES and Agrégation, both highly competitive national examinations, in German.

Frédéric taught French and was a dorm associate at Saint Andrew’s School in Middletown, DE, then taught French and German at Concord Academy in Concord, MA, followed by a position as the head of the Foreign Language Department and French teacher at the Cambridge School of Weston in Weston, MA. Frédéric currently teaches all levels of French at Oldfields School. His goal is always to create a positive and fun learning environment so that each student can succeed. Frédéric has taken Oldfields students to Montpellier in Southern France during three of Oldfields' May Programs. Frédéric also offered a May Program to Germany in May 2013.

As Oldfields' badminton coach, he looks forward to another fun season! In high school, Frédéric played soccer for three years, badminton for two, volleyball for three, and tennis for one year. He also did a year of Greco-Roman style
wrestling. Frédéric practiced and assisted coaching aïkido at the dojo of the Université d’Orléans-La Source for two years. During his military service in France, Frédéric practiced marksmanship and also loves hiking.

Frederic lives on campus with his three children.
