Faculty and Staff Directory
Kathleen Wenck, Director of Financial Aid, joined the Oldfields community in July, 2019, as the Associate Director of Admission and Financial Aid. As the Associate Director, Kathleen travelled to three countries and numerous states along the East Coast as she implemented the Admission Office’s goal of attracting mission-appropriate students from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences. Along the way, she met former Oldfields Head of School Taylor Smith in Vietnam, a true testament to Oldfields’ global reach. Never one to back down from a difficult conversation, Kathleen’s new role as Director of Financial Aid will allow her to ensure a family-centered approach is taken to providing the Oldfields Experience to as many students as possible.
Prior to Oldfields, Kathleen served as the Assistant Director of Admission at an independent, Catholic high school in Baltimore, MD. Working there for four years, she strengthened the school’s Student Ambassador Program, was Head Varsity Cheer Coach, and served as Staff Liaison to Diversity Initiatives.
Kathleen is a graduate of Mercy High School in Baltimore, MD, where she learned the power of an all-girls education, where young women form habits of lifelong inquiry, critical thinking, and courageous action in a global society. She earned her Bachelor in English, with concentration in writing, and a minor in Museum Studies from Towson University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Most recently, she earned her Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Loyola University of Maryland, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Like our senior class of 2020, Kathleen celebrated her most recent educational milestone virtually.
Ask Kathleen her ultimate goal and she will proudly answer “creating a non-profit pig sanctuary where abandoned potbelly pigs can live full and happy lives.” Supporting her in all her endeavors are her husband and two pups, Nugget and Chip.
