Reiva Kibbee joined the Oldfields School community after serving two small boarding schools in various departments including Admission, College Counseling, Athletics, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Residential Life. Reiva is a graduate of New Hampton School in New Hampton, NH, which is where she fell in love with the community that only a boarding school can create. She is excited to bring her enthusiasm for boarding school life to the Oldfields community. Coming from a public education family, Reiva was the driving force behind her own independent school admission process. The transformative experience of having teachers/mentors care deeply about her, being encouraged to take risks, and building life-long friendship with peers from around the globe is what motivates Reiva to work with families through the admission process. When you find the right learning environment (both in and out of the classroom) you will exceed expectations while developing into who you are and who you want to become. Who you are “supposed to be” doesn't exist here at Oldfields.

When asked why she loves Oldfields, Reiva shared a story about a 10th grade girl who was unsure about running for class president. She leaned on peers and adults to help her draft her speech, practice her confidence, and ultimately win the position. It was tremendously rewarding to watch this young woman grow into a leader.

The kindness that radiates form each member of the community and the bilateral mentorship, with adults listening to the girls as well as teaching them, are the traits that make working at Oldfields such a wonderful experience.
