The time has come! Sets are painted, lines are memorized, and theatre director Shawn Wright and her cast and crew are excited to open the curtain, turn on the stage lights, and perform Working for all of you this weekend!
Working: the Musical is adapted from a novel by Studs Terkel, originally written in the 1970s. With its focus on working class communities, blue collar workers, and daily life, Working is unique in its presentation of reality and how that reality rings especially true during the current pandemic. Designed as a show featuring monologues and solos, it has been an ideal choice for this year with the incorporation of on-stage dividers, social distancing, and face masks.
Due to health and safety protocols, only students may attend the shows in person on Friday, April 30, at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, May 1, at 7:00 p.m., or Sunday, May 2 at 2 p.m. All students are required to attend one of the three shows in person.
The good news is that we will be streaming Saturday night’s performance live for everyone else! You can watch the show via our YouTube channel. We will also record and share a video if you can't join us via the live stream.* So pop some popcorn, cozy up in your living room, and tune in to watch these incredibly talented students bring the stories of each character within this show to life!
