Racial Injustice: Committed to Change

Freedom Ride May Program: A two-week journey following the Civil Rights Movement through the South.

Oldfields is committed to doing our part to address the systemic racial injustice that has long gripped our nation. We join together with our students, families, and alumnae of color, particularly our Black community, both on and off our campus, as the nation continues to fight racial injustice. We are committed to working as a community to educate ourselves, better our understanding, and lead change. The Oldfields Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee hosted a safe forum for students and faculty on June 2, which was a valuable first conversation in this effort. We are grateful for the alumnae who asked to join us and were able to participate. We look forward to inviting members of the Oldfields community to broader discussions in the near future. Our awareness has been heightened and resources are being dedicated to creating an action plan beginning with the 2020-2021 school year.
