Celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through Celebration and Service
The Oldfields community honored the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through both celebration and service. In the morning, Expressions Dance Company, a dance troupe based in Annapolis, MD. performed several moving and poignant dances honoring Dr. King and the Black Lives Matter movement. Student, Madison '25, shared a creative poem, "Be the Change” with our school community.

During the afternoon, our community gathered in groups to participate in service projects including making casseroles for Our Daily Bread Catholic Charities of Baltimore, assembling toiletry bags for Ukraine Relief efforts, writing letters of encouragement to moms and children who have been displaced by the ongoing turmoil in Ukraine through Letters of Love, making baby blankets for Binky Patrol Comforting Covers and cleaning up the nearby NCR trail.
