Weekend Activities

Just like at all schools, the vibe changes come Friday afternoon. The difference at Oldfields is that all your friends are right here! Plus there is a wide variety of things to do and places to go are planned and just waiting for you to sign up! Oldfields ideal location near major cultural centers such as New York City, Washington, DC, Philadelphia, and Baltimore as well as natural wonders including the Chesapeake Bay, miles of hike and bike trails, the Atlantic beaches, and Appalachian Mountains allow for limitless options. You will learn and have fun as you take advantage of our “100-Mile Campus,”

We understand that weekends are for downtime and relaxing as well. You can choose low-key options like shopping, a movie night, craft projects, or ordering pizza in your dorm room. Mixers with other schools are also on the agenda throughout the year.

Co-curricular options

We believe that true personal growth isn’t about limiting a girl to one area of specialization, but rather providing her with the flexibility to explore many interests. Our breadth and depth in co-curricluar activities allow our basketball star to be the lead in the musical, or our lacrosse goalie to discover she loves yoga. It’s not unusual to have our students try something different each term.

Riding Program

Oldfields Riding has been a vibrant part of the community for over 150 years. The Oldfields Riding Program is dedicated to inspiring our riders to pursue a path of continued growth. Our goals are to develop and enhance a yearning for knowledge, to value the character of the horse and the integrity of the sport, to honor the path of the individual, and to savor the process of learning and the lessons discovered from our relationships with horses.
