May Program is a hallmark of an Oldfields education and the signature program in our expanding experiential learning curriculum. May Program is an annual portfolio of two-week experiential learning courses that provide students a diverse set of opportunities to engage in self-discovery and explore the community, region, and world. Successful completion of a May Program each year is a core graduation requirement and an important facet of the Oldfields education program.

2021 May Program Timeline

  • March 4-March 12: Students and families discuss and select May Program preferences.
  • March 12: Students submit 2021 May Program Selection Form.
  • March 25: Families receive notification of May Program placement and receive contract.
  • April 15: May Program deposit due.
  • May 3: Final May Program payment due.
  • May 17-May 28: MAY PROGRAM

Students requesting May Program financial assistance are encouraged to choose their top two May Program preferences regardless of cost. Financial assistance for May Program is very limited and is contingent upon several factors which may include: student seniority, demonstrated financial need through tuition assistance, requested financial need through submission of this form regardless of past demonstrated or non-demonstrated need, availability of scholarship funds, and capacity of selected May Program options. May Program financial assistance is granted in the form of a one-time use grant to be applied to the individual student cost of the program. Assistance may or may not cover all required program fees. May Program Notes

  • May Programs have minimum and maximum enrollments.
  • If minimum enrollment is not reached, a May Program will not be offered.
  • Priority for a May Program assignment is given to students in higher grades.
  • May Program assignments may be influenced by factors like how many students request financial aid and health and safety protocols, particularly for off-campus overnight travel trips.
  • Itineraries and final program costs will be provided with May Program placement notifications.
  • Students and families are encouraged to contact May Program sponsors with specific questions about the program
