Women in Literature: Women of Justice
Single Semester Course
In this course, we will read, investigate, and analyze works written by women, with a focus on justice. We will ask not only “What is justice?” but also “Whom is justice for?” “What does justice mean in different contexts, for different situations?” and “Who decides?”. We will ask these questions of plays, short stories, essays, novels, and poems from the Early Modern period to the present day. This course will be discussion-based, so students are expected to complete the readings with interest, enthusiasm, and a desire to share. Additionally, students should expect to express their ideas about these texts in a variety of written modes, both formal and informal.
School student accounts will be debited at the start of the year for a Membean license.
