Strategies for Academic Success
Strategies for Academic Success is an elective course offered to 8th and 9th-grade students that works to build and refine foundational academic and executive functioning methods and habits. This class uses multimodal instruction, practical application, repetition, and reflection to facilitate academic growth and improve academic readiness in diverse learners. Students will learn about their unique learning profile and practice critical self-reflection and self-advocacy. Throughout the year, students will be exposed to various reading, writing, note-taking, test-taking, and study skills that they will implement through practical application in their other academic courses throughout their Oldfields career and beyond.
