Poetry for Social Justice

SINGLE SEMESTER COURSE

This course is for the poets and those looking for the correct medium to express their voice. Over the semester, the class will explore and write poetry. We will learn from those who came before and found their voice for justice on social issues through poetry, both written and spoken. We’ll challenge the traditional “canon” by exploring poets of the past and present from a bevy of different backgrounds and writing about intersectional topics. Our semester will be structured around various social-action themes that will also be shaped by the interests of the students in the course.

School student accounts will be debited at the start of the year for a Membean license.
