Photo II explores photography's capacity to disclose, expose, cover, and augment what is seen and unseen. Building from the technical and conceptual framework of Photo I, students will explore genres such as abstract, collage, tableau, editorial imagery, and more. They will learn to use digital manipulation tools as well as darkroom based alternative processes. They fine-tune their ability to give and receive constructive criticism.
Students in Photography II will build their works as a singular portfolio and practice methods of critical writing in the arts. Not only are students expected to write artist statements for each project, but write project proposals as well. Projects in Photo II are much more broad to allow for more individualized and focused portfolios.
