French VI

Class is conducted entirely in French. It is enhanced through the daily use of Smart Board technology in all its aspects. Communication skills in all four language areas—speaking, listening, reading, and writing—are strongly developed. This course builds on the program and skills acquired in French V, and on the program preparing students to the AP French Language and Culture Examination. Therefore, it places a strong emphasis on Francophone culture in all its diversity. AP tests from former years will be given every week. Grammar is studied on a regular basis, and is taught using a wide variety of activities, such as articles from the French newspaper Le Monde, conversations, skits, cartoons, comic books, short excerpts of films, songs, paintings, games, Internet exercises and multimedia lessons. The course helps students to acquire the necessary tools to succeed in the AP Examination.

Prerequisite: French V or by permission of instructor and department chair.
