Leadership Opportunities

At Oldfields, we place value on developing strength in communication, character, and accountability. Research shows that single-sex education empowers girls to seek leadership opportunities in college and beyond. (link to NCGS stats) It may begin with making an announcement at Morning Meeting, and end with you as the All-School President!  When you leave Oldfields, you are prepared to step into each leadership position with poise and confidence.

How will you choose to lead?

Leadership Opportunities

You can represent your community as a student council member, a dorm prefect, a student tour guide, or an ambassador for your school at the Baltimore Girls' Schools Leadership Coalition (BGSLC). Or maybe you would rather seek a position on our Student Judiciary Board or Academic Integrity Board where you would have the important responsibility of upholding the high standards of accountability and discipline throughout the School. The students who apply and are selected for these important roles make a serious commitment, but gain maturity and life skills that serve them well.

Join a Club - START A NEW CLUB

Are you interested in sharing your passions through one of our student-led clubs? Joining or leading a club is voluntary, but highly encouraged! Special “club times” are incorporated into our daily schedule, which makes it easy to join several.  A faculty advisor supports each club, so no one has to go it alone. Since clubs are initiated and led by students, the mix changes every year. Here is a partial list of the clubs that Oldfields students have enjoyed over the past several years. Don’t worry if you don’t see one you like—you can create your own!
