Literature: The Origin and The Destination

Literature: The Origin and The Destination explores major literature through the lens of studying how stories and themes evolve over time. We'll look at how authors get their ideas and how one piece can give rise to others. Students will look at non-fiction primary and secondary sources, oral traditions, and historical events within the development of literature as well as using poetry, short stories, memoirs, novels, and plays as sources themselves. The course includes extensive work in close reading, composition, vocabulary building, and grammar review. Class discussions and writing assignments promote the development of autonomy in oral and written interpretation.

School student accounts will be debited at the start of the year for a Membean license.
