Head Elect David Perfield Visits Oldfields We wish you could have seen the girls' faces when Head Elect David Perfield surprised them with a visit to the Theatre during Morning Meeting on October 19. They gave him a warm welcome and cheered loudly when he joined Head of School Ansley Smithwick and All-School President Joy Brown-Bryant on the stage. David came back to Oldfields to attend the October Board meetings, so he is up to date on the positive state of the School. He'll be coming back again with his family – his girls want to see where they'll be riding their bicycles! We can't wait to welcome him and Lisa back to campus and to meet his daughters, Anna (6) and Lexi (4). They'll have big sisters galore! Baltimore Gathering Leah and Ramsay Whitworth, parents of Faith '19, generously opened their beautiful home to a host of Oldfields family for the Baltimore Gathering on the evening of October 19, 2017. Ramsay's colleagues on the Board came out in force, and several of Faith's friends added a delightful touch of youth to the party. A fabulous time was had by all! Many, many thanks to the Whitworths for having such a beautiful party for Oldfields! Philadelphia Gathering Carol Atterbury '74 Many thanks to Carol Atterbury '74, who hosted a fabulous gathering for Oldfields alumnae and parents at her home in Devon, PA, on October 20, 2017. The guest of honor was Carol's Green teammate, who happened to be a skeleton, complete with hockey stick, OS tunic, and dragon boa! We all had a terrific time together, as Oldfields girls and their families always do. Thank you, Carol! Virginia Fout '89 Wins at the Washington International for the Second Year in a Row! Virginia Fout '89 Virginia Fout '89 has done it again! For the second consecutive year, Virginia won the grand champion low amateur hunter title at the Washington International Horse Show! This year her victory was especially meaningful as the trophy was renamed The Bucky Reynolds Memorial Award after the late Bucky Reynolds, a huge fan of Virginia's, whom she knew all her life growing up in Middleburg. Virginia not only excels at riding but is also the owner of her own event productions company, V Productions LLC in Los Angeles.
We're proud of you, Virginia! Patricia Storey DeCamp '46 Celebrates the Centennial Celebration of Man o' War's Birth! Patricia Storey DeCamp '46
Oldfield's very own, Patricia Storey DeCamp '46, witnessed history's most famous race horse, Man o' War, pose for the famous sculptor, Herbert Haseltine. Patricia, only twelve years old at the time, spent many days watching Man o' War pose for Haseltine. Last April, as we celebrated Oldfields' 150th, it was also the centennial celebration of the Man o' War's birth. After Oldfields, Patricia graduated with an art history degree from Vassar College, and studied painting at the Art Students League of New York and the Schuler School of Fine Art in Baltimore.
