Dear Oldfields Family,
Thanks to the leadership of Head of School, Parny Hagerman, and a strong faculty and staff, Oldfields is thriving and in a solid position to move forward. As we celebrate the School's 150th birthday, we are excited to begin the important job of finding the next person to lead Oldfields into its bright future.
As Chair of the Search Committee, I want to assure you that our goal is to be open and inclusive. All members of the Committee welcome your comments and suggestions as we begin to move through this process. Currently, we are reviewing search firms to help us with this critical task and will keep you updated as we move forward. As Board Chair Hilary Gardner Swain '72 says, "This is not a sprint, but
a long, patient, and thoughtful process to ensure we get it right."
The Search Committee listed below includes alumnae, current and alumnae parents, faculty, and staff. We all share a love for Oldfields, and our goal is to find the next leader who will keep our School focused on "each girl's success" and the culture of kindness for which Oldfields is known.
As you know from your personal experience, Oldfields is a unique school that has shaped the lives of thousands of young women. This tradition will continue when Associate Head of School, Ansley Smithwick, becomes Interim Head of School for the 2017-2018 school year. Oldfields has a rich past, and with your help, a strong future.
