Calorie Gallery - Snack bar opened after study hall Mondays-Thursdays
Campusment - May not leave campus for any reason or have any visitors
Chicken Hill - Where the horses graze outside the library
Commons - The building with the post office, Gookie's, Herky's School Store, and the dining hall
Crosswalks - Between Old House and Commons, the place to be picked up or dropped off
DAs - Day (Student) Assistants are students who help out with day staudents
DC - Disciplinary Committee hearing
Family Style Dinner - Monday  through Thursday nights girls sit at assigned tables for dinner with a faculty member
Free Day - Free Days, for catching up on schoolwork and on sleep, are randomly announced by the Head of School
Garden Room - Back dining room
Gookie's - Lounge located on the first floor of Commons
Graduation Hill - Hill located off the front porch of Old House where our graduation procession takes place
Green and White Spirit Competitions - We compete in each sport for team points after every season
Herky's - Oldfields' School Store located in Commons
Jungle - The garden area in Old House near the Admission Office
May Program - Two weeks of experiential education at the end of May
Miss Nan's - The library located in Old House, named after our second Head of School, the daughter of the School's founder
Morning Meeting - A time for the whole community to share announcements and for senior presentations
Old Post Office - The original Glencoe post office, located at the back of campus
OTS - Oldfields Transportation System, a shuttle used on weekends
Quad - The grassy area outside of the Tammis Day Academic Center
RAs - Resident Assistants are students who help out in the dorms
Saturday Work Detail - Assigned to work with the AOD from 9:30-11:30 a.m.
Senior Presentations - Each senior gives a 5-10 minute presentation in Morning Meeting on a topic that has affected her life
Senior Room - Located in Old House near the Admission Office and only for seniors
SMARTBoards - An interactive whiteboard that allows teachers to highlight key points, access applications and websites, write notes in electronic ink, and then save all their work to one file that they can print, e-mail, or post to a website.
Student Center - Located in Commons and includes a big-screen TV, wireless Internet connections, School Store, Rosa's Room, and Gookie's
Thing-a-ma-bob A wooden object that is hidden on campus throughout the year; those who find it get Green/White points for their team
Three-Year/Four-Year Senior - When a girl says she is a three- or four-year senior, she means she has been at Oldfields for three or four years.
