Ways of Giving

An outright gift to Oldfields allows us to meet immediate objectives, gives you maximum tax benefits, and is the simplest gift to arrange. When you make a gift of cash you are entitled to an income tax deduction of the amount subject to tax deduction limitations. Gifts may be made in the following ways:

Check

A check payable to Oldfields School and mailed to the School.

Credit Card

Use your MasterCard or VISA to give over the phone (410.472.4800) or online.

Matching Gift

Double or even triple your donation with a matching gift from your employer. Simply include your company's matching gift form with your contribution.

Securities and Stocks

Gifts of readily-marketable securities or stocks, including mutual funds, benefit you and the School. You receive a tax deduction for the full market value of the appreciated securities you give. If you have held the appreciated securities for more than a year, you avoid capital gains taxes and qualify for a charitable deduction.

In addition to giving appreciated securities as an outright gift, you may choose to make a gift of securities or stocks through a trust, thereby preserving income during your lifetime or the lifetime of your designated beneficiary. The tax advantages vary according to the plan you choose. Donors should consult with a tax advisor for more information.

Gift-In-Kind

Oldfields School welcomes items of tangible personal property which can be used in one of the School's programs. Donors can receive a charitable deduction for the item's market value. Please contact the Development Office at 410.472.4800 if you wish to make a gift-in-kind.
