Introduction to Psychology

This course introduces psychology as a basic and applied science.  Students will investigate the scope of the field and explore the physiological, psychological, social, and cognitive influences on behavior.

It is a course taught from the perspective of providing insight into behavior and exploring skills to make practical application of that knowledge.  It stresses systematic study and explores the differences between psychology as a basic and applied science.

Students will demonstrate their knowledge of the readings and discussions through tests, projects, field trips, classroom interaction and observation of the world around them.
