Honoring Martin Luther King, Jr.

A hush fell over the audience as the MLK Day Assembly opened with Dominique Young Mejia '04 singing, "I'll rise up, I'll rise unafraid, I'll rise up, and I'll do it a thousand times again," the beautiful anthem by Andra Day. She had the girls' full attention immediately. This former Oldfields student is now a Dean of Students at KIPP Infinity Middle School in Harlem, New York, and she was a perfect choice to be one of the inspirational speakers at the event.

This year, Alumnae Weekend and the 150th Celebration is free! Therefore, you must register by April 18 to attend. A large number of alumnae and friends are expected to return for the biggest family reunion in Oldfields history!

We urge you to sign up for each invent which you intend to attend. You won't want to miss out and we don't want to run out of food and drink!

What do I wear to the 150th Gala on April 29th?

The dress is Green and White Festive! 




Class Agents play a vital role in reaching out to classmates and helping to keep us all connected. It's not hard or time-consuming. Just some emailing or phone calls to encourage your class to send in class notes and to come to Alumnae Weekend. That's basically it!

Athletic Highlights 


Varsity basketball is poised to shoot for the playoffs with a  9-2 record.  Special shout out to Audrey Reynolds '17 who is PNC Bank's Leader of the Month. She was selected out of the entire IAAM league!


Riding announced that Charlotte Beaule '19 is the Jr./Young Rider Training Level Champion for 2016 by the Frederick Area Dressage Society.
More congratulations are due to Mary Hannah Hardison '19 and Frances Newton '18 for qualifying for Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) Regionals.


Track championships are approaching and  Kate Carroll '18, Jincan "Iris" Xing '18, Jaelyn Brunson '17, and  Hannah Kulla '18 have already qualified in one or more events!
